Jessica Granger Harvie, M.Ed Arts, CYT
Mrs. Harvie is a licensed, certified educator of Dance, Drama, Yoga, and K-12 Physical Education. She holds a Masters Degree in Arts and Academic Interdisciplinary Education, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, a Bachelors in French, and has 29 years of experience as a Dance professional. She began her dance training at age 2 and has had extensive training in numerous genres of Dance. She continues to works with students 2 years and older; and has also trained professional level dancers who have gone on to careers in the Dance profession. While living in Louisiana, Jessica owned and operated her own dance studio, Studio 48, School of Fine Arts, Dance Academy, for seven years. She has also had the pleasure of founding the dance programs and serving as Director of Dance at both Davenport School of the Arts and Ridge Community High School during her 20 years with Polk County Schools. She has also been the founding artistic director and choreographer for three dance companies: DANCE, INC; The Davenport Dancers; and, Electric Motion Dance Company. Jessica also established, founded, and facilitated the All-County Dance Festival and Gala Events for Polk County Schools, and has been a part of three teams who have received The Kennedy Center Awards for excellence in the Arts. In addition, Jessica has served as a state leader serving as Past State Treasurer for The Florida Dance Education Organization and as a writer for the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Dance. Recently, Jessica wrote the Middle School Dance Curriculum for the Polk County School District. Currently, Jessica is writing a dance book which she aspires to publish one day. Jessica is a firm believer in dreams coming true because she sees evidence of it every day in her family, friends, and students. Above all else, Jessica is most thankful for the blessed life she leads with her husband, Mike, daughter, Madison, and son, Jude.
